Adira Sailing Centre & Lido is situated in Ghadira Bay in Mellieha, right on the sandy seashore. While giving a multitude of services, this Sailing Centre is managed by the well known sailor and sportsman Paul Ellul, with many events to his credit. Apart from the sporting and sailing facilities, there is also a very good restaurant serving good food at very competitive prices, and also a lido for the summer months. A sailing school, staffed by duly qualified instructors, teaches sailing on dinghies, windsurf boards and also on catamarans. The lido is very well equipped with new changing rooms and toilets and, apart from the restaurant, a snack bar sells take away and good snacks at incredible low prices. Dinghy sailing and windsurfing is readily available to both beginners and seasoned sailors.

Moreover the close proximity to industry vessels facilitates easy practical experience with their simulation capacity which includes state of the art bridge replication. Malta provides an ideal base for training purposes. Just a three hour flight from the UK and measuring 19 x 25 kilometres, the climate is perfect for the majority of the year. The costs of accommodation, transport and food meanwhile, are very favourable compared to other European countries.
